Helpful Tips for Sellers!

Shop Around
- don't be tempted to hire the first real estate professional

- make sure the fit is right and you check their references, etc.

Understand What You're Signing
- ensure you know what all paperwork means, how long it'll be in effect, and what the clauses mean (ex. listing agreement)
- always ask questions and seek legal advice if needed

Show the Facts
- try to itemize all of your home's details for your realtor
- things like square footage, recent renovations, items that are/aren't included (water heater, curtains, etc.)
- make any small fixes you can, if affordable, like repainting dingy walls or replacing old light switches

Plan Your Open House Wisely
- speak with your realtor before the open house to set any ground rules you may have for your home
- remove all valuables and make sure to put away anything with your personal information, like receipts, bills, etc.
- weed out any excess furniture, knick knacks, and general "stuff"

Know Your Options
- when reviewing offers on your home, the details of the offers will remain confidential between you and your realtor
- you could receive multiple offers, but your realtor is there to help you make the best choice

Budget Accordingly
- remember there are closing costs that come with selling a home
- these costs can include real estate commissions, legal fees, moving expenses, etc.

Possession Day
- the buyers will receive the keys to the home through their realtor
- leave any extra keys, garage door remotes, and any instruction manuals/instructions for the new owners
- the sale is now officially complete, and you're ready to move on to your new home!
